Email support

Please do not send passwords, app-specific passwords, API keys, email contents or other sensitive information. Tanjiro does not use an account, and we cannot see your conversations, memories or email.

Installing a model

Open Settings and choose a model under Model. Tanjiro suggests the best fit for your iPhone. Downloads are about 1.1 to 2.6 GB, so use Wi-Fi and keep enough free storage. You can also import a model file from the Files app. Every file is checked before use, and once a model is installed, chat works offline.

Seeing photos and drawing pictures use their own downloads, which you can add in Settings when you first need them. If Tanjiro says your iPhone is short on memory, close other apps and try again, or tap Optimize local AI for this iPhone to find the fastest setup for your phone.

Connecting email

Open Explore, Email accounts, Add account (also available in Settings). Gmail and Microsoft accounts sign in through the system browser sheet with read-only permission. For iCloud Mail, create an app-specific password at account.apple.com and enter it in Tanjiro's secure field. Other mail servers must use an encrypted connection on port 993. You can connect up to five accounts.

Tanjiro never sends, deletes, moves or marks email as read. To send a message, Tanjiro opens Apple's Mail or Messages sheet, and you review it and tap Send yourself.

Disconnecting and revoking access

In Email accounts, choose Disconnect for an account. This removes its stored sign-in or password from your iPhone. You can also revoke Tanjiro's access at any time from your provider: Google Account, Third-party apps and services, Microsoft account, Apps and services (work or school accounts: My Apps or your administrator), or revoke the app-specific password at account.apple.com.

Online features

In Settings, Network Tools, online features and the in-app browser are each set to Off, Ask before connecting (the default) or Allowed. With Ask, every request shows the service and exactly what will be sent, and you choose Don't Send, Send Once or Always Allow.

Web search and weather work without any setup. Stock quotes (Finnhub) and package tracking (17TRACK) need your own API keys, and you can add a Brave Search key for web search; keys are stored in your iPhone's Keychain. The in-app browser does not run website scripts, so open those sites in Safari instead.

Forwarding texts

iPhone apps cannot read Messages directly. To let Tanjiro help with texts, create a personal automation in the Shortcuts app that runs Save Message to Tanjiro when a message arrives. Tanjiro keeps up to 500 forwarded texts for 30 days, and you can delete them in Settings.

Permissions

Tanjiro asks for iOS permissions (Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, location, microphone, speech recognition, camera, notifications, Home, Bluetooth) only when you use a feature that needs them. Change them at any time in iPhone Settings, Apps, Tanjiro.

Deleting your data

  • Delete individual conversations in the app; this also removes email excerpts, pictures and results stored with them.
  • Open Settings, Memory to review, edit or delete saved memories.
  • Disconnect email accounts and remove API keys to delete stored credentials.
  • Delete downloaded models in the app, or delete Tanjiro from your iPhone to remove all of its data at once.
